When You Finally Plan Time Off, and the Universe Laughs
I’ve been saying for awhile that I would start slowing down, and I finally did. I actively have been taking less bookings in hopes of getting to a space where I can not only have a little peace but also accomplish: a little admin, a lot of email catch-up, and maybe…maybe….some rest. Instead? Colds through the family followed by a sinus infection (for only me), nap strikes, family drama, and an email pile so deep, I may never be able to dig myself out from under it. It never fails. I clear the calendar and the chaos checks in. But some things you can’t go around, you can only go through. So, as I go through pounds of tissues blowing my nose, drink my weight in lemon water, I try to remember it will not always be like this and one day I will miss it.
Today’s Meal: Grilling on the Patio with what sides I can muster. Not having a sense of smell is definitely not fun! Perhaps some roasted sweet potatoes, garlic bread, tomato salad, and of course rice and cheese for the littles (it’s all they will eat). We usually grill on Sunday night for the week but life plans itself.
Quote of the Day: “Mama, I don’t want you, I wan’t daddy”. -my toddler
