Why I Want My Home to Look Like a Movie Set
If you come to my home (or follow me on social media) you know I spend a lot of my free time trying to turn our home into something that looks like if Feng Shui and the movie Practical Magic had a baby. I’m talking candles, potted herbs, dark wood, and wind chimes that tangle just right in the breeze.
Is it practical with toddlers, farm animals, and all the little critters that come in between? No. But it is soul-filling to have a space that feels like it came from a dream? Absolutely.
As I’ve shared before, we live way out in the country. Going out to eat, meeting up with friends, or even grabbing a coffee takes at least an hour of prep and travel—plus about 24 hours of planning ahead.
Since we can’t just leave on a whim like most people, I’ve worked hard to make this space our oasis. It’s where I write menus, sip my coffee, and try to remember who I am outside the chaos, outside the motherhood, and outside the mess
