Ginger Infused Simple Syrup

3 reasons why you should make infused simple syrup: 1) It’s delicious; 2) It’s easy to make; 3) It will make you look fancy :) Also it’s a great way to monitor how much sugar you’re drinking instead of throwing back countless high sugar mixed drinks and processed juices. I love to add this to (sugarless) iced tea and lemonade (or why not both in an Arnold Palmer!

*Note if you do not like your ginger flavoring too spicy, I would skip step one and just use regular water.

Ingredients:--Makes about 5 Cups

  • 4 C granulated sugar

  • 2 C water

  • 3-4 Inch piece of ginger (peeled and chopped into a few pieces)

Directions:

  1. In a medium saucepan, add water and ginger and bring to a rolling boil.*

  2. Add sugar to pot and bring to a boil, stirring, until sugar has dissolved. Remove from heat and allow to sit for 30 minutes.

  3. Remove ginger pieces and strain into a storage container. Allow to cool fully before sealing and storing.
