If you’re like me, you’ve seen and avoided those Chia Seed infused beverages at the fancy juice shops. My reasons for doing so were that I wasn’t to keen on drinking anything with black floating specks, and also I didn’t feel like spending $7+ on a beverage with black floating specks. However after spending the last few weeks creating Chia focused dishes for clients, I was inspired to explore the beverage route for myself. I have to say, I’m a big fan! Chia is loaded with nutrients, antioxidants, protein, fiber, and help with hydration! If you’re still not sold on the black floating specks, opt for white Chia instead.
Yield: 5 Cups
3 Tablespoons Chia seeds
1 Cup fresh Lime juice
Sweetener to taste (I like to use 1/4-1/2 Cup Honey)
4 Cups Water
In pitcher or whatever serving container you are using, add Water, Chia seeds, Lime juice, and sweetener. Stir until sweetener has dissolved.
Adjust flavor as needed.
Chill in the fridge for at least 20 minutes to allow the Chia to soften up. Stir before pouring.
